The cultural evening organised on 2010 April 25 commemmorated Padmasree Moozhikkulam Kochukutta Chakyar with an oration by Kalamandalam vice-chancellor Dr. K. G. Poulose. Padmabhooshan Kuzhoor Narayana Marar was also honoured followed by Gayathriveena recital by Kumari Vaikam Vijayalakshmi.

Ragas in Carnaic, Hindustani, Kathakali and Film music were analyzed with demonstration by renowned musicologist A. D. Madhavan assisted on vocals by Suhas Kalathimekkad on 2009 November 14th. This was a major step towards enabling the appreciation of classical music for general public.

Stalwarts of Kathakali of the present day were brought together for the “Major-set Kathakali” on 2009 Septembe 3rd. Kalamandalam Gopi starred as Dharmaputrar in Kirmeeravadham with the uniqueness being Kalamandalam Balasubrahmanyan as Lalitha. Kiratham with Kalamandalam Ramachandran Unnithan as Kattalan followed.
